Armenia's Investment Forum Returns September 30 to Pitch Capital Markets

Armenia's Investment and Financial Forum, themed "The Moment of Opportunity: Armenia in the New Architecture of Global Markets," is set for September 30 at Yerevan's Dvin Music Hall after being postponed from its original March 3 date. The event is organised by Freedom Broker Armenia in partnership with the country's Ministry of Economy.

Ovak Ovakimyan, director of Freedom Broker Armenia, described the forum as "a platform for substantive dialogue and for shaping a long-term vision for the development of capital markets." The inaugural 2024 edition drew more than 500 participants from Armenia's financial and investment sectors, government institutions and the broader business community, according to Armenpress.

Freedom Broker's parent company, Freedom Holding Corp, reported a market capitalisation of $10.54 billion and total assets of $10.3 billion as of September 30, 2025, giving the forum's host firm meaningful scale to convene regional and international investors. Registration for the September 30 session remains open online, with organisers targeting attendance at or above the 2024 benchmark.

The forum's return comes as Armenia posts some of its strongest macro indicators in years: gross reserves hit a record $6.5 billion in August, growth has reached 7.7%, and the central bank raised its policy rate to 6.75% — its first hike since 2022 — as it manages inflation alongside that growth. Those conditions give organisers a stronger pitch to institutional investors than the postponed March date would have offered, per figures reported by World Bank-sourced reserve data.

For Armenia's capital markets, still shallow relative to its regional peers, forums like this one function less as deal-closing venues and more as visibility exercises aimed at drawing foreign portfolio interest ahead of any future government or corporate bond issuance. Whether the September 30 gathering translates rising reserve and growth figures into concrete capital markets development — a stock exchange listing pipeline, new fund vehicles, or expanded dram-denominated debt issuance — will be the metric worth tracking into 2027.

Armenia's securities market remains small by regional standards, with most household savings still held in bank deposits or dollar-denominated assets rather than domestic equities or bonds, a structural gap forums like this one are explicitly designed to narrow over time. Organisers say the postponement from March to September was administrative rather than a response to market conditions, and Freedom Broker has continued expanding its Armenian brokerage and asset-management operations throughout the year regardless of the delay.
